300 to 500 million yen could be required to sign Jun Nishikawa

Spanish giant Barcelona are still chasing promising youngster Jun Nishikawa who officially joined Cerezo Osaka this year, Barcelona-based newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported yesterday (Japan time).

Nikkan Sports revealed this morning that Cerezo Osaka made a 3-year contract with Jun Nishikawa. As it also reported early this week, there is a provision in his contract saying that any club who want him must pay a termination fee Cerezo Osaka set (which can mean there is no release clause in it). Nikkan then wrote “in an extreme case, Cerezo Osaka can ask 10 billion yen.” It may sound too extreme, but to say more realistically, the transfer fee could be around 300 to 500 million yen (about 2.44 to 4.07 million euro), Nikkan Sports reported.

Jun Nishikawa has been currently training with the first team in Osaka to prepare for his first professional season. The team will travel to Miyazaki Prefecture for a training camp beginning on January 20. The 2020 season opener takes place on February 22.
